PREMIERE: San Francisco’s Hot Flash Heat Wave are going through the ‘m o t i o n s’ as they prep new LP

Hot Flash Heat Wave

With their last notable body of work arriving two years ago in the form of the Mood Ring EP, San Francisco trio Hot Flash Heat Wave are gearing up for their first full-length in nearly 5 whole years – they released a further teaser track from it called ‘vampires‘ a few weeks ago, and today the band are sharing a high-flying video for their other single release of 2021 called ‘m o t i o n s’, originally released back in June.

We’re premiering the clip – for a song which fans of the likes of Washed Out and Beach Fossils should investigate immediately. Here’s what they had to say about the inspiration behind the three-and-a-half minute audiovisual treat: “This video is a juxtaposition of movement and emotion. It’s a non-linear journey across barren lands and cityscapes paired with abstracted vignettes that hint towards a deeper meaning of longing and allow the viewer to craft their own meaning behind the lyrics of the song. We were lucky to work with a wonderful crew of friends on this video over the course of 3 blurry and jam-packed days in LA and other locations around Southern California.”

If explorative indie pop is your thing, you’re going to love this. Check out the video below, and stay tuned for more info on Hot Flash Heat Wave’s third album, set to follow up 2017’s Soaked early next year.
