Dutch soul band The Tibbs have just released a new lyric video for ‘The Main Course’, the second single taken from their new album ‘Another Shot Fired’, out via Record Kicks, and we’re delighted to be able to premiere it right here on Backseat Mafia this morning.

The Main Course is a soul stomper in the perfect sense of the world, with splashes of organ here and shards of Brass there, with this northern sounding rhythm sections propelling everything forward. It this doesnt have you reaching for your brogues and your Fred Perrys, this lockdowns really got to you.

Of the video, the band say, “For the video of The Main Course we initially had the idea of shooting it in a big classic ballroom. Roxanne, backed up by a dance group, would be playing a strong woman, making clear to her lover that she deserves a better treatment than she got so far; that she needs someone who lifts her up instead of putting her second. However, the lockdown in our country did not allow us to work things out. We had to wait for better times and sat down to enjoy some classic movies. And guess what … It appeared that the video for The Main Course already existed, and it even gives the song a cheerful wink.
