Say Psych: News – dayz of Purple and Hope for Cancer release

Andy Uzzell over at ace Psych blog Dayz of Purple and Orange has put together an insanely good digital album of sounds from some great bands that you will already know, and probably some amazing bands that are new to you; all of whom have given their music for free for this fantastic cause. It’s a brilliant way of getting to know more about the scene and checking out something you might have missed. Even more than that though, this album if for charity with all the proceeds going to cancer research charities.

What a non-brainer! Get along to the bandcamp page HERE and spend some of the best money you will ever do in the knowledge that you’re helping eradicate the scourge of cancer while giving your music collection a welcome boost at the same time. As Andy says:

“Cancer’s a right bastard eh? Most people have been touched by this blight in some way, either themselves or close family members & friends. In 2012 there were an estimated 14.1 million cancer cases around the world, this number is expected to increase to 24 million by 2035.

“On a personal level, I’ve lost loved ones and recently a very close family member has been diagnosed with inoperable lung cancer. As anyone touched by cancer, as either a sufferer or relative, will tell you, it leaves you feeling powerless and helpless. It occurred to me that I can do one thing……raise some money to help fight this blight on modern life. So, I contacted some buds and contacts in the music world and they generously agreed to provide some music, some exclusive and unreleased. All profits from this compilation will be split equally between Cancer Research UK and World Cancer Research Fund International to help fight this thing!”
