See: Aladean Kheroufi releases new video for soulful jam ‘Take a Step’

Taken from his forthcoming EP Beauty Beyond Grief, Canadian-Algerian multi-instrumentalist / producer Altadena Kheroufi has released a new track, Taken A Step. Born out of the worldwide pandemic and the ending of a long term relationship, Kheroufi recorded this collection of classic soul reworkings as a response to these things. Throw in losing your job and having to find a place to live in these times and you understand why this recording might have been a cathartic experience.

With Take A Step, Kheroufi has taken the Lou Burgio track made famous by Arthur Conley and given it this laid back, drizzled reading, the razor sharp soul cracking over Kheroufi’s slacker vocals. Like something straight from Adrian Younge’s cooker, its deeply soulful, timeless and impossibly groovy
