See: Birthday Girl release new video for ‘I came here to eat’

Stockholm alt-rockers have released a new video for their track ‘I came here to eat’, which is out now via Sweet Cream Records.

Taking something from the likes of Sonic Youth and Thee Oh Sees, Birthday Girl manage to drop some heavy psych in I came here to eat. Smothered in echo and reverb, the guitars grind and howl their gutteral song, feedback cracking over the top of it all. Underneath though, it’s a proper pop song, wistful yet catchy, as it winds its snake like magic around you, only to squeeze all the resistence out of you when it tightens its grip. Beware.

Of the video, they say  “There was a clip of Fran dancing to a Joy Division tune after a show it looked so ridiculous we wanted to have it on the video, but the way Sebastian captured it on stage in this theatre stage it actually looks like Frans got the moves. It works well with the song cause it’s the idea of someone trying to grab your attention and impress, but subsequently failing”
