Everything seems to be pointing to Simon Green, aka Bonobo having an even bigger 2022 than last year. Already at the forefront of dance music, his new album Fragments is out via the ever brilliant Ninja Tune label on January 14th. He’s pulled in a load of collaborators including Jamila Woods, Jordan Rakei amongst others. For the latest track taken from the albums, From You, he’s drafted in superstar Joji.

On the song, a reflection on the dance floor, Green says: “I remembered all over again how much I loved crowds and movement and people connecting with each other.” It’s a slow moving affair, all stripped back beats and hazy chords, while over the top the vocal, often daubed with harmonies, exhumes this warmth that overrides the track.

To accompany it, there’s this beautifully shot study of water, the sea and it enveloping us, or the camera, or both as the sun shines over it, and effects take our expectations off on a tangent. Lovely stuff.
