See: Ghostpoet reveals new video for Concrete Pony

If you tuned into the BBC 6Music Festival over the weekend, you’ll have heard Ghostpoet debut songs from his forthcoming album ‘I Grow Tired But I Dare Not Fall Asleep’ to an appreciative crowd. Even if you didn’t, you might have heard lead track Concrete Pony.

It’s bleak and hard edged in its outlook, driven by this pseudo funk baseline, minimalist piano chords initially, before guitars mimic the bass and then slash away in the background. Over the top Ghostpoet delivery is as languid as ever, but his storytelling and rhymes are sharp and insightful.

The accompanying black and white video is an incredible piece of visual art in itself. Check it out below.

I Grow Tired But I Dare Not Fall Asleep is out on May 1st on Play it again Sam.
