See: Land of Talk release new video for Diaphanous

Land of Talk have released a new video for the track Diaphanous, taken from their forthcoming album Indistinct Conversations, out on 31st July via Saddle Creek.

“After recording and sharing the initial demos, hearing what Bucky [bandmate Mark “Bucky” Wheaton (drums/keys)] had manifested from essentially just my humming and strumming at once both floored me and swept me off my feet,” explains Powell of “Diaphanous.” “What begins as an airy groove swells into a sweeping anthem for going easy on oneself. And, the importance of levity.”

It’s this atmospheric slice of indie rock, stripped back and lilting as it flutters away, Powell’s vocal always on the edge of fragile, and beautiful for it. Underneath, there’s guitars that scuff and drums that paddle around, with splashes of electronic sound added, just in case you didn’t like it enough already.

About the video, director Lara Kramer adds, “It has been an exciting and meaningful experience collaborating with Lizzie Powell, a strong voice, on the video for ‘Diaphanous.’ Approaching the visual treatment of ‘Diaphanous,’ I led with my sensing the song’s underbelly, the guts. Without pushing the telling of a narrative. Finding self determination in what we chose to reveal and disclose, what we make transparent.”
