See: Restless Leg unveils evocative video for ‘The World’s A Room’ and announces tour dates

Last month we premiered the glorious jingle jangle pop of Restless Leg‘s ‘The World’s A Room’: an archetypal antipodean indie rock classic with its lilting melodies and indelible refrain. Now the band has put some vision to the sound and released a charming video featuring the band performing in the interior of a crumbling mansion – a fitting analogy for the themes of the song about the strictures of COVID lockdown.

Ancient clocks, dust-covered windows with filtered light and the walls cracked with the movement of time: it’s a beautifully shot portraiture of the band trapped in the vast high-ceilinged brown-tinged mists of time:

It’s a suitably evocative capture of an evocative song.

The video is directed by Darren Cross – a musician in his own right from Gerling and Jep and Dep, the latter which features Jessica, another musician we have covered in Backseat Mafia. It’s a small world.

‘The World’s A Room’ is available though the link below and through all the usual download/streaming sites from 27 April 2021. It follows the release of the single ‘The Wheel It Turns’ earlier this year, reviewed by Backseat Mafia. On the basis of these two sparkling delights, the release of the new album ‘Dream Buffet’ on 11 June 2021 cannot come too soon.

Restless Leg have also announced news of a tour of the East Coast of Australia to launch the album:
