Taken from their album ‘Somewhere’, out in February 5th via Run for Cover / Keeled Scales is the new single from Austin, Texas’ Sun June, titled ‘Everything I Had’, and they’ve just released the accompanying visuals for it.

“‘Everything I Had’ is about feeling stuck and wishing you could go back in time. It misses when things were new and easy and full of promise,” said Sun June’s Laura Colwell. “It feels very ‘Austin’ to us, because things change here so quickly and it’s easy to fall into a rut and feel like the city is moving on without you. Friends are always leaving town too, so sometimes it’s fun to think moving to LA or New York would solve all our problems. It’s also fair to say that the song has taken on some new meaning during the pandemic. We’re all missing someone or something right now.

Hazy vibes and muted guitar lines give ‘Everything I had’ this sort of arid dreaminess, but its Colwell’s vocal that really makes it sparkle, as she pulls out a good line in melancholy, the emotion seemingly crackling from her voice, making the already lovely melodic lines pin you, albeit comfortably, to your seat.

Check it, and the accompanying video, which follows the band….well, pretty much everywhere, here
