See: The Duke Spirit release ‘Wounded Wing’ video + European tour dates

Last year we were excited about the prospect of a new album from London four-piece The Duke Spirit. After whetting our appetites with singles ‘Here Comes The Vapour’ and ‘Blue And Yellow Light’, plus a handful of live shows, it’s finally here.

Fourth album ‘KIN’ is their most emotionally charged record to date – reflecting on the changes in their lives, both joyful and devastating, since 2011’s ‘Bruiser’.

This exploration of juxtaposing emotions is evident in the video for their latest single ‘Wounded Wing’, which begins with an ethereal light shimmering into the camera before Liela Moss appears in the orange glow – her movements as slow and captivating as her words. The video radiates warmth and complements the stripped-back sound. This is not one of their indie-rock anthems, but a delicate song that allows plenty of time for Moss’s vocals to resonate with the gentle waves of piano and guitar.

‘Wounded Wing’ is a perfect example of what this record is all about – The Duke Spirit wearing their hearts, souls and song-writing brilliance on their sleeves.

To the relief of their loyal fan base, the band has also just announced a full European tour. Get tickets while you still can, as this is a band that is as stunning swaggering across a stage as they are creating evocative rock records.
