SEE: Van Dammes’ garagey plea for a ‘Tax Free World’

HELSINKI’S bubblegum garage punks Van Dammes are, like most of us, making the best of a bad situation in midsummer 2020.

With the cancellation of their European tour – during which the band were pencilled in to perform at the opening of Euro 2020 in Copenhagen – the guys have settled with making and releasing a video for their “guaranteed summer hit ‘Tax Free World’”, as taken from their fourth release, Risky Business. You can watch below.

The band say, quirkily: “[Although ‘Tax Free World’] was recorded in freezing Helsinki in the vicinity of polar bears, [it] takes you on a hot and risky spaceship journey to a place where people live fast, have a blast and still appreciate 90s’ tennis.

“The band released the world’s first 7-inch vinyl single greatest hits compilation in 2017 and a bunch of other shit in various formats.

“‘Tax Free World’ is the best music that the Nordic countries can produce at the moment.”

“Tax Free World” is taken from The Van Dammes’ six-track 7” Risky Business, which can be ordered at https://www.punkorder.com/items/music/7quot/van-dammes-risky-business
