See: Virgin Kids release video for Bruised Knees

If you managed to pick up their debut album Greasewheel, which came out (in the Uk at least) on Fluffer records earlier in the year, you’ll be familiar with their rough-hewn, scuzzy, blistering take on Garage rock. They’ve now released a new video for one of the stand out tracks on the album, Bruised Knees.

The band began as a bedroom project of frontman Asher Preston, who enlisted the help of childhood friend Paul Rosser and latterly Jack Spencer-Davis (ex Thee MVP’s) to complete the line-up, and who then headed out on a mission to convert everyone to their way of thinking, supporting the likes of Jacuzzi Boys, The Coathangers, Dirty Fences, and Kim and The Created. The release of Greasewheel brought admiration, recognition and a good deal of support from the likes of Radio 1 and 6Music.

Bruised Knees blasts into life, all echoey guitars and pulsatng rhythms while managing to retain some of the DIY charm of punk. It ebbs and flows, with chiming guitars and splashy drums creating this feeling of beautifully organised chaos, while the melody just bores a hole into your defenses. Throw in a bit of imagery, camerawork and the band in action, and enjoy.
