See: Wye Oak release video for It was not natural, plus tour dates

We’re rapidly falling in love with Wye Oak here at Backseat Mafia. Following on from their successful European tour and the release of their album ‘The Louder I Call, the Faster It Runs’, out now on Merge Records (read our review of it, here) the band have announced a whole run of tour dates, including a second run of them in the UK during August. They’ve also released a new video for the song0′ It Was Not Natural’, currently all over the airwaves.

Its a song, so says the bands Jenn Wasner  about pulling the threads that hold the fabric of our world together.” She continues: “In our new video we have created a visual representation of a truth discovered in this process—that sometimes it is the most mundane things that are strangest of all.” Certainly it hits home with this rather lovely, melancholic pop, driven by huge buzzing synth chords and a chorus that wraps itself seductively around you.

Check out the Dan Huiting directed accompanying video, here

You can find the album on CD and LP in the Merge store, at your favorite independent record shop (where you might still be able to score a “sand and sky”-colored Peak Vinyl copy), or on your preferred digital listening service.
