Track: A. Smyth returns with the lush and atmospheric single ‘Long Night’ and news of live dates.

Last year’s ‘Lost Animals’ from Dublin troubadour A. Smyth (reviewed by me here) was a gorgeous collection of delicate musings and lush vibrant instrumentation. Smyth is back with a new single, ‘Lost Night’, which continues this lush sonic journey.

Smyth’s melancholic delivery reflects the song’s serious themes, and yet there lies a sense of hope and optimism carried by the shimmering instrumentation and the indelible pop melodies. Smyth says of the track:

‘Long Night’ is a song about how the world is being increasingly rigged to disconnect us. The way we’re being exhausted and herded more and more into conflict and survival mode – and the hope we can find our way back to what’s real.

The result is something that sparkles, with Smyth’s vocals reflective and yearning:

Smyth will be launching the single and play a few dates in Ireland over the coming weeks:

Live at The Grand Social, Dublin – Wednesday 23rd March (tickets here)

This will be the first opportunity post-COVID for Smyth and his band to play ‘Lost Animals’ album

Tour Dates in April for Cork and Limerick:

Limerick, Record Rooms – April 8th

West Cork, Connolly’s of Leap – April 9th

Cork, Coughlans Live – April 10th
