IT’S a marriage made in (sonic) heaven: new-skool Yorkshire shoegazers bdrmm have debuted a remix of their current single, “Reason To Celebrate” by Ride man Andy Bell.

Working under his GLOK nom-de-plume, Andy has taken the anthemic original – with its yearning refrain and towering guitars very much in the early Creation-era Ride vein and given it dubby room in a longform rerub that recalls the electronica shoegaze work of Ulrich Schnauss.

And it seems like the collaboration was indeed a meeting of minds. Bdrmm’s drummer Luke Irvin said: “In my first ever band we used to cover ‘Vapour Trail’ by Ride and now Mr Ride has remixed one of our tracks! It’s mindblowing!”. Andy replied: ““To know them is to love them.”.

The original version of A Reason To Celebrate’ is taken from the band’s hotly anticipated debut album, Bedroom, due for release on July 3rd.

The GROK remix is available now across all digital platforms: You Tube, Spotify, Souncloud and Apple Music.
