Track: Billie Flynn shares ‘Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas’: brandy warmth from the Cornish coast on a seasonal classic

Billie Flynn

THE SEASON, ’tis almost upon us, friends; and in celebration and expectation of that, chanteuse Billie Flynn, who’s based on Cornwall’s rugged granite coast, has revisited that holiday season classic “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas” in her breathy, lovely style accompanied by a guitar of brandy warmth and, dare I say it? An almost shoegazey chime.

We rather enjoyed her debut single, the wistful looking back of “Hey Stranger” upon its release in July; since when she’s released her debut EP, of the same title, on Never Fade Records.

Speaking about this choice of cover, Billie said: “This song just sums up Christmas for me. It was probably in a lot of Christmas films I watched growing up so it’s so nostalgic, and warm feeling. I wanted to give it my own spin.”

Billie is to round off her first year as a recording artist with an appearance at Never Fade’s Christmas party on December 13th, at which she’ll take to the stage at The Union Chapel, Islington alongside labelmates Gabrielle Aplin, Nick Wilson, Hannah Grace, Saint Raymond and CJ Pandit; you can get tickets for that, here.

Billie Flynn’s new EP, Hey Stranger, is available to stream now
