Track: BOB re-release Convenience in support of their final tour dates

All good things must come to an end, and largely unheralded but none the less brilliant 80s/90s indie merchants BOB have decided to end their reemergence with a flurry of live dates in November, and with a reissue of their Peel approved classic ‘Convenience’.

Released as part of the Optic Sevens 2.0 reissue series via Optic Nerve records, the reissue is limited to 800 copies in three different coloured vinyl – Green, amber or red, and includes a poster, postcard and sticker. Originally released in 1989 on the bands own House of Teeth label, it made John Peels festive fifty that year, and is back in its new incarnation by the previously unreleased ‘Coquette’, recorded in 1992, remixed in 2017, and only available on this vinyl release.

For those unfamiliar with the original, it’s a joyful slice of indie pop, blessed with an unforgettable chorus, and a joie de vivre about the track that is just about the most infectious thing imaginable. For those that are, this new spanked up version features added harmonies and Hammond organ, with a little more drum track added to it, along with a new cover.

Whichever, take the opportunity to grab hold of a copy. Here’s the original
