Track: Boy Azooga cover Jim Sullivan’s U.F.O.

While busy writing the follow up to 2018’s 1,2 Kung Fu!, Boy Azooga have still found time to release a stand alone single version of cult U.S. singer -songwriter Jim Sullivan’s ‘U.F.O.’.

Of the track, the bands Davey Newington says, “I was introduced to Jim Sullivan’s U.F.O last year by Tom Friend in Friendly Records. It has become one of my favourite ever albums since. Hope we did it some justice! Would like to dedicate this version to Pete, safe voyage on your U.F.O.”

The boys have kept a lot of the originals 70’s sunshine feel, swathed in strings, but swapping the flutes for synth sounds, and let the song (which if you haven’t heard it, is a classic) breathe, just adding their own little psychedelic twist on it. It’s totally addictive.

The accompanying video, directed By Cardiff based On Par Productions, is their light-hearted take on 70’s cop shows. Check it out, here
