Track: Brisbane’s McDermott & North release the radiant sixties-inflected golden harmonies of ‘All Things Come And Go’ and reveal tour news.

Brisbane’s busking duo, Paddy McDermott and Rhys North are McDermott & North and their new single is a radiant folk-inflected slice of pop. With glorious harmonies that are celestial and euphoric and a melody that rings like a bell with clarity and joy, this is a rousing, infectious panacea for the times.

The duo say of the track:

All Things Come And Go’ is about coming to terms with the fact that whenever you’re going through a rough patch, a ray of sunshine is just around the corner. As we grow older we learn how to let go of the things we once held closely in order to make way for the next part of life’s journey. You also start to realise the finite nature of life and the importance of finding a sense of contentment living in the moment. The song lives in that space – not thinking about the past, not being too worried about the future either.

This kind of positivity, delivered in such a shimmering way, is the shot in the arm we all need. I am reminded of the pop sensibilities and harmonies of bands like The Las and their successors Cast: layered complex harmonies, jangling guitars and anthemic choruses.

Very exciting stuff indeed. You can get a prescription for this four minute dose of joy through the streaming link above or here.
