Track: Buttered spread their special blend of smooth coastal soul all over new single ‘Love’

Following on from 2020’s stunning smooth-like-chocolate release, Electrify, Queensland duo Buttered have returned with another Soul Train-esque follow-up, the effortlessly heartfelt Love. The guys are also excited for an impending mini-tour which will see them play 4 coastal dates from next Friday, 2 July.

Love was written and produced by the band themselves and mixed by Jared Adlam. Featuring lo-fi classic Wurlitzer keys, subtle guitar and soul-filled vocals, the track’s Al Green magic hits a sweet spot almost immediately.  Reflective of Buttered’s smooth, low-key style, the song is dedicated to the sweet joy of love and commitment.

“’Love’ is about the excitement and possibilities that come with creating a life with someone. It’s also about how that feeling translates universally. The shape and size of our love in every part of our lives colour and intensifies everything we are.” -Buttered

Since their debut release in 2020, Buttered have impressed fans and tastemakers near and far, receiving national radio play and clocking up a staggering 500,000 streams worldwide. With a string of sell-out shows around their hometowns of Gold Coast and Brisbane, the dynamic pair are on the rise and polishing their reputation for creating tunes with soul vibes for days.

To celebrate the release of Love, the band are heading off on tour across the south east, stopping in Brisbane, Gold Coast, Sunshine Coast and Byron Bay:
