Track: Car Seat Headrest – Can’t cool me down

Out on May 1st via the ever brilliant Matador Records is ‘Making a door less open’, the new record from Car Seat Headrest. Four years in the making, Will Toledo recorded Reto versions of the album – one live with guitars, drums and bass, and one under his alter ego ‘Trait’, as 1 Trait Danger, a CSH electronic side project also featuring drummer Andrew Katz, which was in a MIDI environment using purely synthesised sounds. Over the course of the mixing the two approaches were blended together.

From the record Toledo has released a new track (although its been a staple of their live sets for a couple of years. It buzzes and fizzles with its repeated synth lines and electro-bass line, as Toledo lends his laid back drawl to the immediately memorable melodies that are laid down.
