Today, London-based drummer and composer Chiminyo has shared a stunning new live session video for his track “Reachin'”. The track is taken from his critically acclaimed debut album “I AM PANDA”, which came out in 2020 via London analogue specialists Gearbox Records.

The live session for “Reachin'” is the culminative brainchild of the same three creative forces. Dancer and creative producer Muti Musafiri, film maker Jordan Rawi and the artist behind the track, Chiminyo. Together they wanted to portray the powerful experience of a Chiminyo stage performance as a live session video.

Chiminyo has a way of making the drums the star of the show and the melodies are simply an accompaniment. The drummer/composer’s inventive music, consisting of sounds triggered live from his drum kit is mesmerising and this video captures all the complexity and talent on show. The infectious beats captures you just as easily becoming almost hypnotic in the way he runs around the drum kit.
