Track: CLAMM are back with new single ‘Bit Much’ from new album

CLAMM

CLAMM the power punk trio from Melbourne have released a new single ‘Bit Much’ today, via Meat Machine. The song will feature on their upcoming second album, ‘Care’ out on 19 August.

CLAMM is made up of childhood friends, Jack Summers and drummer Miles Harding and Maisie Everett (also in Belair Lip Bombs), who joined the band shortly after their previous album ‘Beseech Me’ was released.

The band says that ‘Care’ is “bigger, louder and darker” than ‘Beseech Me’. The new album was recorded at Rolling Stock and Sound Park Studios with Nao Anzai (NO ZU, Cash Savage, Rolling Blackouts) contributing synth while Anna Gordon (Mangelwurzel) added some crazy saxophone.

The new single explores the difficulties faced by by young people today as they try to retain their mental health in the face of a world that is in turmoil. ‘A Bit Much’ is excoriating punk rock – an unrelenting sonic onslaught that underpins and drives home the lyrics that describe this existentialist crisis.

“It can be a strange thing to focus on your own mental wellbeing while also hearing about the constant horrific events of the world. Bit Much focuses on this dynamic and the overwhelming feeling it can bring.”
