Taken from their forthcoming self-titled EP, out on Muzai Records on April 20th, West Mansion is the first time mysterious collective DuhkQunt have stuck their heads above water.
Written mostly on Groovepad, and influenced by Namco classic Splatterhouse, as well as DJ Yoda and the like, it’s brilliantly coined by the label as Jerkcore, given its flitting, head turning nature, latching onto beats and maples here and there and following whims and wormholes where it likes. It’s melodic and attention grabbing, but it also has this dark almost foreboding element about it as it dances with breaks, beats and a whiff of the industrial.
