Track: Joe Garratt – Toxic

Processed with VSCO with p5 preset

North Easts rising star and electronic synth-pop artist Joe Garratt is finishing the year off with the release of his new track – ‘Toxic’ via Enter Records

About the track Garratt comments:

“Toxic is basically about a toxic relationship, a dark time for me, but also a time for growing, learning, empowering myself and rising above such a shitty relationship, hence the emotional lyrics yet the uplifting instrumentation.”

Electronic beeps open the track interrupted by a euphoric drop of synths and drums usher in Garratt’s smooth vocals. There’s a lot going on under that voice, with various synths and instruments rising up through the constant drum beat. It’s all floating sunshine synths that fade in and out and a rumbling bass with a guitar solo straight out of the 80s. If you like your electronic tracks with intelligent lyrics and gorgeous dreamy notes then this is the track for you.
