Track: Key Out – Stray

The warm fuzzy shoegaze sound of Sydney band Key Out is at the fore in their new single ‘Stray’ – a delightful shimmering piece that seems soaked in nostalgia and an air of satisfying wistfulness.

Mixed and mastered by the legendary Wayne Connolly (Underground Lovers, Youth Group, You am I and Died Pretty amongst others) and self recorded, this is a hypnotic and mesmerising song – yearning vocals floating through a wall of fuzzy, sparkling guitars infused with reverb and regret.

The accompanying video seems to perfectly encapsulate the late afternoon Sydney sun, yards that go on forever and romping pets – in the summers where the blinking lights don’t sleep:

Absolutely gorgeous.

The single is out on 29 May 2020 and is off Key Out’s album entitled ‘Anthropomorphia’ out through the iconic Half A Cow Records, on Friday 26 June 2020. You can pre-order below and hear Key Out’s earlier single ‘Chorus’:

Key Out is Paddy Haid, Rohan Geddes and Caroline Wake.
