TRACK: Lady Wray shapes up for a new album with the stunning ‘Storms’

BIG CROWN’S first lady of modern soul, Virginian Lady Wray, is shaping up for her follow-up to 2016’s acclaimed Queen Alone with the gobsmackingly deep and heartfelt gospel-soul piano styles of “Storms”. Take a listen to a an absolute blast of a track, below.

It looks forward and back; you can hear the church roots of her singing career in a tune that’s been as deftly produced as you might expect for a song (and indeed, an album) with Leon Michels of El Michels Affair behind the mixing desk. Now there’s a producer who knows what you need and what you don’t to fashion a stone classic.

“Storms” follows last year’s fine 7″, the elegant “Piece Of Me”, which along with its flip,”Come On In”, will also feature on the as yet untitled new long player. My, but she’s a talent, right?

Follow Lady Wray on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram, and keep the hell up with Big Crown for a very exciting new set of album drops.
