Track: Night Thieves – Off The Wire

UK heavy rock threesome, Night Thieves, are set to release their new EP, ‘Spiral’, due 17th Friday September. In preparation the band have shared the single, Off The Wire.

The band have been around since 2017 and the trio of Jess Moyle (Vocals), Paul Andrew (Guitar), and Rick Hunter-Burns (Bass) made their live debut at the end of 2018. Since then the band have released a debut EP – ‘Battle Cry’, and where due to support Marisa and the Moths, before Covid hit the world and they retreated to work on their second EP – ‘Spiral’

The band remark about the EP and how they had to overcome challenges brought on by the Covid-19 pandemic:

“Work on Spiral began the moment lockdown happened; we did this remotely with producer Paul Visser. We focused on developing the riffs, vocal melodies, and getting the tracks to really flow. When we finally got into the studio, we were really pushed by our engineer Kev Yates, and everything clicked very quickly and to great effect”.

With plenty of breathing space in the mix and the interesting guitar overdubs during the verses, the track really hits when the distortion is turned up and the chorus kicks off. Moyle’s voice has just the right amount of sneer and gritt to give the track a great attitude, leaving me looking forward to seeing what the rest of the EP sounds like.
