Track: Perth indie-pop favourites Dulcie return with new, sweetly amped single ‘tell ur friends’: Trio supporting Ocean Alley nationally, announce Lime Cordiale support show and headline date in April

Following some glorious indie-pop offerings in 2021, Perth three-piece Dulcie is riding that momentum into the New Year with newest single tell ur friends. The track, released just ahead of their Australian tour (supporting Ocean Alley from 9 Feb) is infectiously sassy, uplifting, and shows perfectly just how the group have evolved these past few years. It’s a galvanising moment for the trio, as they gain yet more confidence as songwriters and musicians.

tell ur friends  is about realising and appreciating one’s own self-worth, both in and outside of a relationship. Co-written by Dulcie and songwriter Chris Chidiac (Polarheart), the song follows on from the 2021 releases Sake of Sound and Ethereal, from their debut EP Sake of Sound. Tapping into a more mature songwriting style, the final result is captivating indie pop music that is still in keeping with Dulcie’s core sound.

“This song came about a bit like Frankenstein – with various bits and bobs picked from previous half-written songs and merged together with a song co-written with Chris Chidiac. It’s about that awkward “what are we” phase in a relationship and the inner knowing of your own self worth.” -Dulcie

Dulcie have gone from strength to strength the past two years, with a stream count in excess of 10,000 monthly, praise from triple j, triple j Unearthed, NME Australia and more, the group has been strongly establishing themselves as a pure force out of the West Coast of Australia.

The release of tell ur friends coincides with a long-anticipated national tour with Ocean Alley and announced support of Lime Cordiale in April. For their hometown fans, they will also be performing a special headline date at The Rosemount, Perth in April.
