Track: Perth’s Rinehearts jangle their way to a classy indie pop peak with ‘One Thing One Time’ and announce tour.

Perth’s Rinehearts have delivered a perfectly formed package of power pop jangle in their new single ‘One Thing One Time’. Combining a chiming guitar attack with heavenly harmonies and a punchy melody, the vocals have a little grit, a little emotion, all forming the sort of charming sixties-flavoured joy one needs to brighten the skies.

The single has production input from Dom Mariani from the legendary Perth band The Stems. There is indeed a strong paisley-tinged genetic thread emanating from Western Australia, home of The Scientists, and a strong tradition of antipodean chiming jangle pop that has been flourishing for years (the Dunedin Sound, the Brisbane Sound and the Marrickville Sound) and the jingle jangle shimmer of bands like The Church, Crystal Set and their like.

The result is a magnificent, catchy pop song:

‘One Thing One Time’ is out through Cheersquad Records and Tapes (run by Even bass player Wally Kempton) on 1 July and you can pre-order/pre-save here.

Importantly, the band is also on tour in Western Australia: details below, tickets here.
