Track: Pixies – On Graveyard Hill plus Album and Tour News

One of the most influential and inspiring bands of the past few decades, the Pixies, have announced a new album – “Beneath the Eyrie’ – to be released on Friday, 13 September, a world tour and a taste of what’s to come in the single ‘On Graveyard Hill’.

And the single is the same delicious loud/quiet/loud recipe that the Pixies have virtually patented and that no band could ever emulate.

A rumbling sonorous bass, slashes of guitar like an axe and Black Francis’s slightly deranged delivery and obscure lyrics. ‘On Graveyard Hill’ is dangerous, brooding and slightly disturbing in a way only the Pixies can do:

It’s classic Pixies without ossification. An absolute delight.

You can preorder the new album here.

The Pixies are:

Black Francis/vocals, guitars; Joey Santiago/guitars; David Lovering/drums, and Paz Lenchantin/bass
