Track: Running Into You- The Cribs’ new single, plus video and new album details

After Cribs fans endured a hefty wait from 2017’s 24/7 Rock Star Shit, and many more were tantalised for new music by their lockdown performance of Be Safe, they have today shared new track Running Into You. The band had fans in uproar yesterday after changing their social media profile pictures, in addition to revealing a reel of footage announcing their return, with their new release played on Steve Lamacq’s BBC Radio 6 Music show.

The Cribs’ new track is quintessential of their brazen, punk-noise reverential style, with Ryan Jarman’s scuzzy guitar tones and it’s short ‘over too soon’ duration. The origins of Running Into You lay in multiple whereabouts, with the Jarman brothers first jamming the track out in Ross Jarman’s Wakefield garage, and then refining it in Dave Grohl’s very own studio. The chorus is as sensational as any of their previous releases, with Gary Jarman’s searing vocals at their best, echoing a Beatles melodicism amongst their other influences.

The Wakefield trio also shared a video for Running Into You, with the visuals steered by Andy Knowles and long-time collaborator Nick Scott, featuring actor Sam Riley as a news anchor celebrating the band’s grand return.

This comes as the lead single to their eighth album Night Networks, released in November on Sonic Blew. Pre-order here.
