Track: Sydney’s Fabels release the dreamy mesmerising reverie of single ‘Waiting’ in anticipation of their new album ‘Minds’

Sydney band Fabels have just released an enormously immersive and atmospheric single ‘Waiting’ ahead of their new album ‘Minds’ to be released on 10 September 2021.

‘Waiting’ is enigmatic, dreamy and ambient: sparse repeated lines are cloaked in mystery and soaked in reverb and an ethereal aura. There is an icy, chilling air to the track with its distant jangling of guitars and whispered, seductive lines.

The transfixing and celestial beauty of the track brings to mind bands like Sigur Ros and All India Radio where the sonic architecture is central and euphoric:

Absolutely gorgeous.

The new album, ‘Minds’, was recorded over three years with Icelandic music producer Geir Brillian Gunnarsson.

This is Fabels’ third album and it will be released on vinyl, CD and digitally through the Qusp label. You can order a limited edition vinyl here.

Fabels are Hiske Weijers, Ben Aylward (plus live, guest performer Tim Powles/The Church) who play original, experimental, progressive, dreamscape music with dynamic arrangements. Formed in Sydney, late 2010, the band have toured extensively through Australia and Europe and have released two albums ‘Zimmer’ 2012, and ‘Hi’2016.
