Melodic post-hardcore rockers, T-Rex Marathon, have shared their latest single ’27 Souls’, taken from their forthcoming EP of re-recorded past fan favourites
The track is inspired by a real-life event in Canada’s grim history during World War II, when Canada declared Japanese citizens a threat to national security. On March 4, 1942, 22,000 Japanese Canadians were given 24 hours to pack up their stuff and forcibly be relocated to internment camps. Lead singer, Adam Sakauye’s grandmother was held in one of these camps. “27 Souls” is one of three songs that will make up the Reimagined EP, this July.
A slow burning intro and verse with some clever guitar work that blows up with the chorus and its joint vocals. Sakauye is one cool front man with a great voice thats complimented by the harsher backing vocals. This is intelligent song writing executed with perfection and an absolute joy to listen too.
