Track: The Futureheads – Jekyll, plus UK tour dates

Sunderland indie rock quartet The Futureheads have revealed ‘Jekyll’, the lead single from their sixth studio album which drops on August 30th. Describing the track as, “a monstrous, preposterous riff for monstrous preposterous times,” Barry Hyde says ‘Jekyll’ is, “a violent song about my childhood disgust at the grinning, jeering faces of certain fellow primary school students (even the nice ones) whenever there was a playground fight. It left a scar in my psyche that I just can’t shake. A song for the animal part of us all. With love from The Futureheads.”
It’s built on this huge angular, odd shaped riff, but shows that the band have stepped back into their Futureheads guise with some gusto. It’s full of big tunes, harmonies and propelled by a formidable indie rock backline. It’s a memorable and joyous welcome back.
