See: Courtney Love. Releases new video, ‘You Know My Name’, plus Tour details

Unless you’ve been hiding under the covers, locked in a cupboard or in some kind of coma for the past few weeks you’ll be aware that a certain Ms.Love is coming to town.

Not only that but she’s got some new solo material, her first since 2004’s ‘America’s Sweetheart’.

Ignore the tabloid bullshit and the conspiracy crap – let’s get straight to what Courtney’s trip is all about – the music.

Out now is the AA single ‘You Know My Name/Wedding Day’ available as a download and soon to be released on very limited 7” vinyl. So after 8 years what has the dowager of grunge got to offer? A pretty powerful straight to the balls punk pop number that has all the hallmarks you’ve either come to love or hate – but I guess if you’ve got this far you have at least got a fleeting fancy for Courtney’s music. Raw vocals, thrashing guitars, it’s far from polished and that’s exactly how it should be. She claims it’s some of the best music she has made in years. I have to confess that I’m biased, I love Ms. Love and agree with her, that this is at least as good as the best of her back catalogue.

In addition to the single, Courtney is also set to kick off a 9 date tour of the UK, her first since 2010. “I feel most at home in the UK and can’t wait to catch up on TOWIE [Really? Have a word with yourself Courtney. –stAn] and play in my second and hopefully, inevitably my first home.  I grew up half a British citizen and I just miss it.  I can’t wait to play for my Brits”.

And we can’t wait to see you. Love live is an experience you will not want to miss. Famously described by the late, great, John Peel as “verging on the heroic… generating a tension which I cannot remember having felt before from any stage”. Joining Courtney for the tour will be The Wildhearts, Ginger Wildheart, a cult figure in his own right, he will be a suitable cohort.

If you are lucky enough you can catch Courtney and her band at the following dates in May:
