Tennessee based Drew Holcomb and The Neighbors brought the “Find Your People” tour to Portand’s Revolution Hall this past Monday. Joining them on this tour is Canadian singer songwriter Donovan Woods. The show provided a blend of Americana rock music with some country roots.

Donovan Woods opened the show playing through a catalog of his original songs, including the song “Portland, Maine” that he wrote for country artist Tim McGraw. Between songs, as he tuned his guitar he shined as an entertainer providing jokes, poking fun at himself and giving entertaining back stories for each of his songs. Donovan shows he is a talented writer, concluding his set with the touching song “Next Year”.

Drew Holcomb blends the traditional country sound with electric guitars, providing songs that make you want to move and dance. The night flowed seamlessly, going from up beat and fun songs to acoustic ballads with Holcomb’s powerful voice reverberating through out the auditorium. Drew took time through out the set to interact with his audience, leading them in call and responses and ensuring that everyone in attendance was having a great time. One point he took to the crowd to perform directly from within the crowd, standing atop a stool as he sang. At around the midway point in the evening The Neighbors took a break while Drew brought back out opener Donovan Woods. Telling the audience, that prior to the tour he invited him to come visit him and to write a song together. They proceeded to perform the song “For Some Reason” that they had finished.

The night was fun and entertaining, Drew Holcomb is a talented song writer and has surrounded himself with a very talented group of musicians in The Neighbors. They’ve released a new album “Stangers No More” this past year, the bands 9th studio album over the last 20 years. The album includes the bands #1 hit “Find Your People“, an uplifting song about finding people that you fit in with. Drew definitely found a group of his people in Portland and promised the crowd to be back sooner this time around. The band is currently on tour in the United States through the summer, dates can be found via their website.

Resident of the Pacific Northwest in the United States. Ever since my first concert in 2004 (Ozzfest) when I was 14 I have been taking pictures. Those days were on a disposable film camera. Currently shooting with a Sony a7IV. My love for music has no bounds across many genres. Catch me at a local punk show or a Garth Brooks stadium concert.
