If you’ve checked out his new album, ‘The Wave’, and let’s face it, after debuting at number three in the UK Album Chart last Friday plenty of people have, pop/indie troubadour Tom Chaplin has announced a 14 date UK & Ireland tour, Starting at Cardiff, St David’s Hall on Saturday May 6th, and including a prestigious date (although, to be fair, all of them look pretty prestigious) at the London Palladium.

Here at backseat mafia towers (my kitchen) anything that involves Aqualung’s Matt Hales, producer of the record, is a winner, and The Wave is a powerful and emotive record which has had critics and fans alike fauning over it. He’s made the obligatory performance on Later with Jools Holland, and along with his band, Sebastian Sternberg, Rosie Langley, Tobie Tripp and Beau Holland he brings the songs to life in a lush and deeply poignant way.
