We are inordinately proud to bring you an exclusive look at the new video for Perth band Shorehaven‘s track ‘Milly’s Car Ride’.

If there ever was a sonic equivalent of sunshine rays ‘Milly’s Car Ride’ fits the bill. It is an exuberant slice of Western Australian summer with splashing, dappling guitars, delicious layered vocals with just a hint of melancholia (perfect ingredients in any pop song). A soaring chorus lifts like an albatross gliding in the air caught by an updraft.

The music video itself, shot and directed by Lula Armenti on and around Floreat Beach, is a sweet and playful clip featuring the four band members and best mates who make up Shorehaven, zooming around in a ‘69 Mustang and singing/playing their hearts out amidst a gorgeous sandy backdrop. The band says of the clip:

We didn’t have much of a plan, but we had a clear blue sky and a 1969 Classic Ford Mustang that we’d hired for the afternoon. Sunglasses were adorned and off we went. Working with Lula was fantastic, she just let us do our thing and somehow managed to produce a top quality music video out of all of our chaos. By the time the sun set, we had sand in places that sand shouldn’t be and an incredible experience we will treasure for a long time. We are by no means film stars, but we think that this video captures the essence of what Shorehaven really is; four mates mucking around and having fun.

The result is something as infectious and joyous as the track:

‘Molly’s Car Ride’ is out now and can be downloaded and streamed here.
