Throughout history the world has been full of mythical and legendary creatures. Whilst most have been widely debunked by science and technology, there are some which still remain popular amongst certain groups. The Sasquatch, or Bigfoot to his/her friends, is an ape-like creature which makes its home in the forests of North American. Like the Yeti, there has been many ‘sightings’ yet not a lot of proof. An aspiring investigative journalist sets-out to remedy this in 15 Things You Didn’t Know About Bigfoot.

Brian (Brian Emond) is a vlogger who is looking to take on more serious work than the usual clickbait stories assigned to him by his editor. When he’s sent to a Bigfoot convention in the Appalachians, along with his producer and cameraman (Zach Lamplugh), it seems like another waste of time. However, when they embark on a field trip with guide and self-proclaimed expert Jeff (Jeffrey Stephenson) strange things begin to happen.

15 Things You Didn’t Know About Bigfoot is an outlandish and uneven film which uses a nifty premise to lampoon modern online journalism. The mockumentary format has been done better before but there’s enough clever writing and offbeat humour here to keep things light and entertaining. Millennial vlogging is ripe for parody and there’s a sharp edge to much of 15 Things You Didn’t Know About Bigfoot. An unusual and fresh spin on the Sasquatch legend.

15 Things You Didn’t Know About Bigfoot is in US theatres and on VoD from 7 May.
