SWANSEA’S Josh David-Read might just be Cymru music scene’s latest little treasure.
The nation that brought us Super Furry Animals, Gorky’s Zygotic Mynci and Cate Le Bon will have a new songster to embrace with the debut track from Josh, who records as Mojo JNR.
He said: “My goal is to make great music (as every artist should!) but also to combine my love for folk and bedroom pop. I [record] all my songs in my bedroom in Swansea.
“The music was inspired by my fascination with bands like Big Thief, Courtney Barnett and Phoebe Bridgers.”
While to these ears, the echo and yearn in the tune recalls some of the best of the Sarah Records stable and Alan McGee’s underrated early Creation outfit, Biff Bang Pow!
