Aussie indie-rock favourites, Middle Kids, are currently on a national tour that coincides with the release of their much-anticipated new album, ‘Faith Crisis Pt 1.’ Middle Kids are known for their dynamic and emotionally resonant performances. The trio is composed of Hannah Joy on lead vocals and guitar, Tim Fitz on bass and backing vocals, and Harry Day on drums. Tonight they are playing to a sold out audience at the Enmore Theatre.
This is my first time seeing Middle Kids play live, and I’m immediately struck by the tangible love in the venue for this band. When they hit the stage, it’s clear why they are so adored. Their blend of jangly indie rock, paired with Hannah Joy’s soaring vocals, is an aural delight. It’s no surprise their album, ‘Today We’re The Greatest,’ won Best Rock Album at the 2021 ARIA Awards. Their resonance extends across the ocean to American audiences, with memorable appearances on Jimmy Kimmel Live, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and The Late Late Show with James Corden. Middle Kids have an undeniable charm that captivates and connects deeply with their listeners.
