One of the first ever articles written on Backseat Mafia was about Adem. It was, back in 2013 sometime, imploring the former Fridge man to make a new record. Sadly, he took no notice of us whatsoever, until now where to be fair, he’s probably still took no notice of us, but he has returned with a new record – out now, and a new tour.

His new album, Seconds are Acorns, is his first for nine years, and from it comes By Everyone. Its the sort of yearning enveloping melody he’s always written, seemingly almost flickering in the distance, blurred by the echoey production, but more confident in itself than his previous work, and much more glossy than his admittedly achingly beautiful debut Homesongs from 2003. Swirling and lapping against your ears, suddenly its gone.

Only one thing for it – grab your tickets quick – the tour starts in Edinburgh on Friday.
