Boston garage pop quartet Bellwire have heralded the release of their self titled debut album (admittedly not due till next year) with the release of a new single – Let it Shine. Work continues on the record this summer, when the band will be recording to tape at The Soul Shop in Medford, MA with producer/engineer Elio DeLuca (Titus Andronicus, Hallelujah and the Hills).
A simple drum beat opens the track, which quickly degenerates into this wonderfully messy punk pop tune. It frays at the edges pretty much throughout from that point, the guitars splashing their rock n roll riffs liberally over the splashing drums and thwack of the bass. Best of all, its drive along by this perfect little gem of a tune, before everything fall apart to finish.
Perfect.
