See: Slow Riot release Trophy Wife video + Gig news

Slow Riot follow up their very well recieved EP ‘Cathedral’ with another cut of classic sounding post-punk.

“Trophy Wife” see’s the band from Limerick, a town more notorious for knife play than music (although it did give us The Cranberries ), continue to drive along the new wave style way, twisting the basics laid down by past masters – think Wire, Television, Chameleons – to create a tune that weaves the old very much with the new and stands out as a track that for my money should put the band close to the point if not the spearhead of the current post-punk scene…

“Trophy wife came together very quickly and organically as a track.” The band tells us “The vocals are hard hitting, dealing with infidelity… it’s about being in a relationship with someone for all the wrong reasons. He was drawn in by her looks and she stamped on his heart. We wanted to evoke these emotions in the listener be it good or bad.”

The ‘Trophy Wife’ single was recorded with Kevin Vanbergen (The Pixies, The Maccabees, Dinosaur Pile-Up, The La’s and Biffy Clyro) at Brighton’s Park Studios at the end of 2015.

The 7″ single will be available on limited edition clear vinyl via the Straight Lines Are Fine label. You can order your copy HERE .
