Aimed directly at the dancefloor Darker Than Wax bring you their latest release ‘BODYCLOCK’ Vol.1. The freshly minted series represents the label’s primary outlet for club burners and machine soul, shedding light on a new school of producers from around the globe while at the same time paying homage to the pioneers who laid the foundations for them. A celebration of afro-futurism ‘BODYCLOCK’ brings together five producers from across four continents – Teymori from Australia, NYC’s Malik Hendricks, label mainstay Ricky Razu from Belgium, DTW co-founder Kaye and up-and-comer Halal Sol from Singapore.

so what do we have? well, if your into club groovers with a classic House/Garage edge then your in the right place. If I had been told this was a collection of ‘must have’ hard to find underground gems from the vaults I’d have believed every word. A mellow feel good ‘A’ side featuring ‘Running for you’ and ‘Umore’ brings to mind those early evening essentials that would wind their way through the crowd making that slow burning energy start to rise. The ‘B’ side takes you later into the night with ‘Soul Side’, So Much Soul’; and ‘Contusion’ while the beats are more driving they continue to hold the positive uplifting vibe making both sides compliment each other perfectly. Solid productions throughout that tick all the right boxes, from a collection of producers who know how to get those infectious grooves down.
