See: Josh Kemp reveals video for Leap of Faith

Josh Kemp is a hero. Well, sort of. He’s playing Nottingham’s legendary thief in Hood, a modern adaption of the medieval tale, produced by local media company Envision Productions.

As well as playing the lead in the film, Josh has written and produced ‘Leap of Faith’, his latest single (which also features on Hood‘s soundtrack.)  From the first few notes you’ll realise that this song is much more optimistic than his previous singles, making use of his cheeky smile and friendly disposition. The Josh Kemp you hear in this song is likely to be the same one you meet at gigs and festivals: someone who’s up for a party and looking to make some friends along the way. He works hard and plays hard, too, and it’s his friendships that keep him going.

The track – and video – features local rap artist and best friend Motormouf, adding something fresh to Josh’s acoustic melodies. You can’t help but smile when you hear this song, particularly when it gets to the chorus: “this is my only moment / this is my chance  to shine.” It’s uplifting and full of promise, which is exactly what you want from a song like this. Josh and Motormouf play well of each other, both musically and personally, giving off good vibes all round. I’d like to see these two tour together – I think that would be really special.
