As this years festival season draws to an end, news is already starting to break for what to loom forward to in 2016. Quite easily establishing itself as the season opener, Manchester’s Gigantic Indie All Dayer is back for round three of what promises to be yet another glorious nostalgic romp through the annals of British indie music.

We had a great time at last years event (click HERE to see full review and pics) but were left with a couple of burning questions – what happens next year? How on earth can you equal, let alone top, this years line up? Well the team behind Gigantic have come up with the goods once again and the 2016 Indie All -Dayer looks set to be another double top day out.

Headliners for 2016, The Wonderstuff , will be celebrating their 30th anniversary, and you can be 100% assured that the ‘Eight Legged Groove Machine’ will be in full flow. Frontman Miles Hunt is already pretty stoked about the whole thing – “We are all so very much looking forward to sharing the bill with such an amazing cast of bands. Speaking entirely for myself, I’d pay top dollar to see any one of the bands on this bill. Bring it on, it’s gonna be a killer event! ”

Sharing the headline slot are very special guests, and one of my personal favourite bands of all time, The House of Love. The opportunity to see Chadwick, Bickers and co. playing such classics as ‘Christine’, ‘Destroy The Heart’ and the genre defining ‘Shine On’ is reason enough alone to make the trip to Manchester on the May Bank Holiday.

But, it doesn’t stop there. Also on the bill are John Peel favourites, CUD, Welsh wonders The Darling Buds, Brit-pop overnight sensations Menswe@r, and many more luminaries from scene.

Spread over three stages over a ten hour period, the festival will also host the first time the ‘Indie Cinema’, promising ‘seminal titles of the silver screen.’ Add to this the highly recommended All Day Real Ale and Cider Festival , in association with the wonderful people of Robinson’s Brewery (– feel free to drop me a line, I’m available for sponsorship), as well as numerous street food stalls, you can be assured you’ll be more than adequately fed, and watered.
