To help celebrate the 10th year (THE TENTH YEAR!) of the mighty ArcTanGent Festival in 2024, todays band announcement is very likely it’s biggest ever band announcement in its history. Yes, it is a biggie, and yes it will make you all very happy.

Announced for this years event are the world renowned, globally acclaimed Scottish post rock band Mogwai, who play the festival for the very first time. An incredibly special band with one of the richest, most varied, interesting and loved back catalogues of music, ArcTanGent Festival is thrilled to have them grace our stages this summer. They are a band that the team at ATG has been trying to book since it began, back in 2013.

Joining them include the atmospheric and powerful Texan quartet, Explosions In The Sky, the mysterious and anonymous duo Clown Core who play music ranging from grindcore to jazz, and the much loved, insanely talented Norwegian multi instrumentalist Ihsahn.

Not stopping there, the festival can also announce another festival debutant in the shape of the phenomenal English stoner/doom metal band Electric Wizard, Belgian post-metal band Amenra, New York solo artist Julie Christmas, Massachusetts post rock band Caspian, British math-rock band Delta Sleep, NYC hardcore 3 piece Show Me The Body, AND the Japanese psych rock band Bo Ningen.

We also have the fabulous UK 3 piece Brontide who are reforming and playing in celebration their album ‘Artery’ which also turns 10! Festival favourites and legends Earthtone9, exciting French space rock band Slift, up and coming UK talent with Tokky Horror and Zetra and so much more!

From Arctangent Festival organiser and booker James Scarlett

“As we’re celebrating 10 years of ArcTanGent we made a list of the bands that have never played that we’ve always wanted to make it more special than ever, and naturally Mogwai were top of that list. We’re over the moon to also be bringing the likes of Electric Wizard and Clown Core to their first ever ATG. We weren’t lying when we said our 10th year is going to be the biggest ATG ever – it’s going to be biblical!”
